Current results on CU Times’ latest web poll:

“The United States will be check-free by:
  • 2015 (12.1%),
  • 2020 (19.7%),
  • 2030 (15.3%),
  • Never, there will always be checks. (52.9%)”

    When were checks invented? Knowing that would help one make a better guess at when they will die out. Maybe they will continue to exist in some other form… like those Kryptonian criminals did in the Phantom Zone.

    I missed that poll – maybe a bunch of laid-off check printers stuffed the online ballot box!

    Maybe we’ll see some CUs and banks phase out the phrase “Checking Account”. Just call it a “Transaction Account”, given that checkwriting volume is steadily dropping.
